Ella Vasilache
I am Ella Arina Vasilache, a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist based in Iași, Romania. My professional background brings together psychology, psychotherapy, psychosexuality, and an earlier academic foundation in law, giving me a multidisciplinary perspective on human experience, relationships, personal autonomy, identity, and emotional wellbeing. My academic journey initially began in the field of law. I graduated from the Faculty of Law at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Criminal Sciences. My interest in understanding human behaviour beyond its legal and social dimensions later led me to psychology, where I continued my education through a degree in Psychology and postgraduate studies in Clinical Psychology and Psychological Counseling, as well as Personnel Assessment, Training and Counseling. Today, I practice as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist, working primarily with adults and couples. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment-based therapeutic approach that places emotions and emotional needs at the centre of the therapeutic process. In individual therapy, I work with emotional difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, attachment and relationship patterns, life transitions, and difficulties involving identity and interpersonal relationships. Couples therapy represents an important part of my practice. Using EFT, I work with partners to identify and understand recurring patterns of conflict and emotional disconnection, explore the attachment needs and vulnerabilities underlying their reactions, improve emotional communication, and develop a more secure and responsive connection. My professional training also includes Psychosexology, an area that is closely integrated into my clinical and therapeutic work. I address concerns related to sexuality, sexual wellbeing, intimacy, desire and differences in desire between partners, body image, sexual identity, sexual communication, emotional and sexual disconnection, personal boundaries, and the ways in which sexuality interacts with relationships and emotional wellbeing. My approach to sexuality is inclusive, respectful and non-pathologizing. I recognize the diversity of consensual adult relationships and sexual expression and consider each person’s experiences within their individual, relational, cultural, and emotional context. My practice is LGBTQ+ friendly. My broader professional background also includes training and accreditation in Work and Organizational Psychology and Psychology Applied to National Security, as well as training in Psychonutrition, which has further expanded my understanding of the relationship between emotions, behaviour, body image, and personal wellbeing. Alongside my private practice, my professional experience has also involved working with people facing vulnerability and trauma. Since 2021, I have been the President of ReSTART PLUS Association, an organization I founded to support victims of human trafficking. Across these different areas of my work, I remain particularly interested in the way emotion, attachment, sexuality, identity, personal boundaries and relationships intersect. I believe psychotherapy should offer a space where people can explore these aspects of themselves openly and without judgment, while developing a deeper understanding of their emotional needs and relational patterns. I am based in Iași, Romania, where I provide in-person services, and I also work online with adults and couples.
